About Jonathan Hilgeman

Testing
A jack-of-all-trades, Jonathan Hilgeman has been involved in nearly every aspect of application development and management. His background includes working as a programmer, help desk, network administrator, system administrator, graphic designer, database administrator, senior IT manager, IT director, and sandwich-maker (once upon a time).

With over 10 years of experience with Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as other visual design applications, he has been able to bring a helping hand to a lot of challenges. That helping hand has often meant creating effective user interfaces for several large projects, designing web and print layouts, and assisting other marketing efforts. You can also see some of his award-winning contributions in digital design contests like Worth1000.com.

While preferring to program within the confines of a stable Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP) architecture, he has several years of programming in other languages, from Delphi to .NET (mobile and desktop frameworks), all the way back to Visual Basic 3. A background in network and database administration also provides him with a lower-level understanding of applications and interoperability.

His role as sandwich-maker once upon a time is perhaps most important. Learning the basics of making a good Reuben sandwich, or the tricks behind making a better egg salad sandwich have expanded the range of people he can serve to anyone with a stomach, not just a business need.
